We’re so excited to see you at the 21st Annual Ribfest Chicago! We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about getting to the festival, tickets and more. Check out this page before you head out to the fest for answers to most of our frequently-asked questions. You may also find information on the Ribfest website, Facebook page and Twitter feed. A: Ribfest Chicago XXI is Friday, June 14, 5-10 p.m., and Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, noon-10 p.m. The festival takes place along Lincoln Avenue between Irving Park Road and Berteau Avenue.


A: While 3-hour metered parking is available on the main streets surrounding the festival, it is very limited. We highly recommend public transportation. NOTE: Festival parking is not allowed in the CVS or 5/3 Bank parking lots. Cars parked in these lots will be towed.


A: The Brown Line train stops on Irving Park Road, just a few blocks east of the festival. The #80 Irving Park and #50 Damen buses both have stops in close proximity to the fest. You can also take the #49 Western and #9 Ashland bus and exit at Irving Park, and take the #80 Irving Park bus to the fest at Lincoln/Irving Park/Damen. Plan your trip to Ribfest Chicago using Google Maps using 4000 N Lincoln Ave as your end point.


A: We request a $10/person ($20/family) suggested donation at the gate. Proceeds from the gate donations are invested right back into the Northcenter community and help support local schools and nonprofit organizations, economic development, greening efforts and community family events. To date, the fest has provided more than $350,000 in cash grants to nearly two dozen neighborhood organizations. VIP PASS holders can show their voucher at the gate in leiu of a donation (however, we sincerely appreciate any donation made at the gate).


A. No, this is a ticketed event and food and beverage vendors will only accept tickets for your purchases.


A: Food and drink tickets are $1 per ticket. Most food items will cost between 4-12 tickets and beer is generally between 6-7 tickets. All rib vendors will supply a 3-bone rib “sampler” for 8 tickets. A half-slab is 15 tickets and a full-slab is 25 tickets.


A: Yes, credit cards are accepted at the ticket booths, and ATM machines to the side of ticket booths.


A: Easy entry is through the CVS gate off Damen. Present your email receipt to the gate attendant to enter the fest. Your VIP Pass can be picked up at the Willl Call Window at the ticket booth located south of the CVS gate, near the UPS Store at 4044 N. Lincoln. It will be the first ticket booth to your left when entering through the CVS gate. However, you may enter through any gate. NOTE: No festival parking is allowed in the CVS lot. Your car will be towed.

A: You can enter through any gate. No gate entry privileges are included with pre-sale tickets. You can pick up your tickets at the Will Call Window at the ticket booth located near the UPS Store at 4044 N. Lincoln. If entering through the Irving Park gate, it will be the second booth on your left.

A: Ribfest has something for everyone, with family entertainment kicking off at on Saturday & Sunday at Noon on the main stage. Family-friendly activities happening throughout the fest will include a wide range of musical performances, dance, games, and interactive crafts. Stay tuned to the website for performer and community act announcements.


A:  Yes! At Ribfest Chicago, we strive to bring a variety of local and citywide restaurants and food vendors to you, including several that accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs. These options will be highlighted when menu items are posted on the Ribs and More page in May.


A: No. Attendees found in violation of City Code Section 8-4-030 for Open Container shall be ticketed and fined not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00 or shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.


A: No, no one is required to donate at the gate to enter the festival area to conduct business.


A: We love hearing new music—even if the lineup is already set for this year, we will consider any original artists for future years. Submissions are typically accepted from mid-January through mid-February. Please contact info@bigbuzzideagroup.com.


A: While we don’t prohibit dogs, we don’t recommend bringing man’s best friend either. There are crowds of people and hot grills, not to mention bones and bone pieces on the ground that could present a choking hazard for your pet.
