If you are coming to Ribfest for the first time, you may have a few questions about parking, tickets, kids and dogs. Our most frequently asked questions are below. Not to mention, a lot of information is available on our site, Facebook page and Twitter.

A: Ribfest Chicago XX is Friday, June 8, 5-10 p.m., and Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10, noon-10 p.m. The festival takes place along Lincoln Avenue between Irving Park Road and Berteau Avenue.

A: While 3-hour metered parking is available on the main streets surrounding the festival, it is very limited. We highly recommend public transportation. NOTE: Festival parking is not allowed in the CVS or MB Financial Bank lots. Cars parked in these lots will be towed.

A: The Brown Line train stops on Irving Park Road, just a few blocks east of the festival. The #80 Irving Park and #50 Damen buses both have stops in close proximity to the fest. You can also take the #49 Western and #9 Ashland bus and exit at Irving Park, and take the #80 Irving Park bus to the fest at Lincoln/Irving Park/Damen. Plan your trip to Ribfest Chicago using Google Maps using 4000 N Lincoln Ave as your end point.

A: We request a $10/person ($20/family) suggested donation at the gate. Proceeds from the gate donations are invested right back into the Northcenter community and help support local schools and nonprofit organizations, economic development, greening efforts and community family events. To date, the fest has provided approximately $350,000 in cash grants to more than 15 neighborhood organizations.

A. No, this is a ticketed event and food and beverage vendors will only accept tickets for your purchases.

A: Food and drink tickets are $1 per ticket. Most food items will cost between 4-12 tickets and beer is generally between 6-7 tickets. All rib vendors will supply a rib “sampler” and we will update this page with prices.

A: Yes, credit cards are accepted at the ticket booths, and ATM machines to the side of ticket booths.

A: When you get to the festival, present your receipt at the CVS Gate (located on the West side of the CVS parking lot on Lincoln Avenue) and proceed to the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce tent directly across from the gate to pick up your VIP package. You will need a photo ID to pick up your VIP package.

A: Of course! We have a safe, fun Kids Square area set up in Northcenter Town Square north of CVS. Please use the Belle Plaine/Lincoln Gate or the CVS Gate entrance. NEW in 2018: Kids Square will be open Friday, 5-9 p.m.! Saturday hours are Noon-8 p.m. and  Sunday hours are Noon-7 p.m. We’ll have inflatables and kid-friendly entertainment all weekend long, as well as games and other activities on Saturday and Sunday! Stroller parking is available in the two CVS parking spaces closest to Lincoln. Entry is free; however, for a donation, your child will receive a gift and be entered into our prize drawing.

A:  Yes! At Ribfest Chicago, we strive to bring a variety of local and citywide restaurants and food vendors to you, including several that accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs. These options will be highlighted when menu items are posted on the Ribs and More page in May.

A: No. Attendees found in violation of City Code Section 8-4-030 for Open Container shall be ticketed and fined not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00 or shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.

A: No, no one is required to donate at the gate to enter the festival area to conduct business.

A: We love hearing new music—even if the lineup is already set for this year, we will consider any original artists for future years. Submissions are typically accepted from mid-January through mid-February. Please contact info@bigbuzzideagroup.com.

A: While we don’t prohibit dogs, we don’t recommend bringing man’s best friend either. There are crowds of people and hot grills, not to mention bones and bone pieces on the ground that could present a choking hazard for your pet.
